Tim Licata

A Director, Teacher and Performer, Tim is Co-Artistic & Managing Director of Plutôt la Vie, a company producing ‘innovative theatre that defies classification’ for over ten years.  Using Phillippe Gaulier and Jacques LeCoq inspired practice, Tim also draws upon the Feldenkrais Method of Awareness Through Movement to create imaginative, vibrant, entertaining and visually driven performances.

Plutôt la Vie productions include, A Clean Sweep, By the Seat of Your Pants, First You're Born and The Builders by Line Knutzon and La Tragedie Comique by Yves Hunstad and Eve Bonfanti.  Tim has also performed and directed for companies including: Communicado, Catherine Wheels, the Traverse Theatre, Reeling & Writhing, The Brunton Theatre & Howden Park Centre.

Tim is currently a Mentor with the FST (Federation of Scottish Theatre) Mentoring Programme.  A skilled teacher, Tim regularly leads workshops with Plutôt la Vie as at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and has been closely involved promoting the development of physical theatre, circus, street arts and alternative performance in Scotland.

Originally from Chicago, USA, Tim has been based in Edinburgh since 1995.
