Dudendance
Dudendance have been making performances for thirty years and developing out- door and indoor site-specific work with young people and communities since 2002. The work is emotive, intensely physical and highly visual. Their process is organic - accessing their role with a certain group or site and developing relationships over many years. In Huntly Aberdeenshire they worked with the same group of young people from the age of 9. Now young adults they are fully integrated company members.
Dudendance have been based in London, Glasgow, Aberdeenshire and working internationally in Germany, Italy, Canada, and South America. Current productions include Into the Wild, This Side of Paradise and Borderlands capturing the beauty of local landscapes and ruined sites. A strong connection to South America since 1992 has resulted in co-production, tours, film projects and interchange in Brazil and Argentina.
The current project Borderlands is a tour-able work that can be adapted into the landscape or historic sites and created with local performers over a one week workshop period.
