Andrew Simpson
Andrew is a theatre maker, clown and director based in Glasgow, Scotland. He studied Drama and Physical Theatre in Edinburgh before completing further training in clown, physical and outdoor theatre practices in Poland, Denmark, Italy and the UK.
He makes devised physical theatre and performance in collaboration with other artists, often for outdoors and non-traditional theatre spaces. Andrew works on the assumption that through art we can articulate our experiences, reflect on them and imagine other possibilities. He strongly believes that this process should be accessible, relatable but can also embrace the non-realistic, highly stylised or abstract. His work discusses relevant and topical subjects using innovative storytelling techniques to reach audiences in unexpected and novel ways.
Along with Lewis Sherlock he is co-artistic director of Adrenalism, a street theatre company. Recent work includes “Hey Idiots, Text Me Your Climate Change Solutions!”, “The Good, The Bad and The Poultry”, A Very Crypto Christmas” and “The Party Shrimp”.
